Station 37 Fire

At 5:40pm Stations 37 & 36 were dispatched to the reported mulch fire on Andria Ave. Asst. Chief 37 was fist on scene and updated the assignment to a District first alarm due to the extension of the fire to a multi family structure. Deputy Chief 37 arrived shortly after and suppressed the exterior fire with a dry chemical extinguisher and water can. Tanker 37 responded first due with 3000 gallons of water onboard and went to work on fire suppression. Due to fire extension and
smoke billowing out of the structure, the exterior of the building was opened up and the remainder of the fire extinguished. Deputy Chief 36 led a crew into the cellar crawl space and found additional extension that was extinguished. Fire damage was limited due to an excellent stop by Hillsborough Fire District members.
